John McCown is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Center for Maritime Strategy, America’s intellectual center that studies the relationship between maritime strategy and international security.
 
Mr. McCown is an internationally recognized expert in container shipping and maritime commerce, with more than four decades of operating and investment experience. Additionally, he was Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of U.S. flag carrier Trailer Bridge, Inc. and also formerly led transport investments at a $20 billion hedge fund. 
 
He holds a master of business administration from Harvard Business School and two maritime-related patents.
