Tom MacMillan is Program Manager at Transparentem, where he develops and leads labor and environmental investigations and engages with companies, NGOs, and others to improve conditions for workers in global supply chains.
Prior to joining Transparentem, Mr. MacMillan worked for more than a decade as a reporter and photojournalist. He wrote breaking and feature stories for The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, and other publications, and covered politics, business, and legal news, including federal corruption cases and criminal justice reform efforts. He won a national award for uncovering police harassment of Latinos in Connecticut and was a journalism fellow at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Previously, Mr. MacMillan worked as a writer and editor for Verité, drafting and finalizing factory and country reports about labor and human rights violations.
He graduated from Marlboro College.
